Background

Dr Daniel Hammersley is a Consultant Cardiologist in London, UK. He qualified from Oxford University and Imperial College with seven distinctions and undertook a sub internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He trained in cardiology at prestigious institutions in London including The Royal Brompton Hospital, Harefield Hospital, and King’s College Hospital.

Dr Hammersley has extensive experience in general cardiology and cardiovascular risk assessment. He treats patients with a broad range of cardiovascular issues, including shortness of breath, palpitations, chest pain, collapses, high blood pressure and raised cholesterol. His specialist interests include cardiomyopathy, heart failure, cardiac MRI, cardiovascular genetics and preventative cardiology. His NHS Practice is at King's College Hospital, where he is service lead for inherited cardiac conditions. He sees patients privately at HCA London Bridge Hospital and King's Private.

Dr Hammersley is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. He was previously awarded a PhD in cardiomyopathy from the Genetics and Imaging Section of the National Heart & Lung Institute of Imperial College. He has co-authored >50 peer-reviewed publications and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences. Dr Hammersley has a strong commitment to medical education and leads an undergraduate module on ‘Preventative Medicine’ at King’s College London.
